The benefits of Prenatal Yoga & Pilates Classes
Yoga antenatal classes
- help to maintain and condition the body making it supple, graceful and strong
- encourage a peaceful and relaxing pregnancy
- can relieve minor common pregnancy ailments (e.g. heartburn)
- can be used to relieve pain in labour and childbirth
- promotes bonding with the baby and an informed approach to parenting
Pilates antenatal classes
- designed to help your body adapt as it changes during your pregnancy and labour
- helps to develop strong and well controlled core and leg muscles
- helps to create strong abdominal, gluteals and pelvic floor muscles to assist the birthing process
- helps the body adapt to massive physical changes during pregnancy and helps to prevent pain and incontinence
Drop-in Classes
The classes will be on the more casual ‘drop-in’ basis ie – no need to book in advance, students can just turn up on the day and join in. We understand the fact that people lead such busy lives these days it’s hard to commit to a 6 or 8 week course, so by making the classes ‘drop-in’ students can literally ‘drop-in’ when they can. Students also have the advantage of going to either yoga or pilates antenatal classes and a discount is offered for students who go to both classes in the same week.
The classes are to be held at possibly the most appropriate venue for this type of class ‘The Village Hall’ in Didsbury. The Village Hall is an incredible space with such a wonderful peaceful atmosphere. It is so important for pregnant ladies to be in the right environment when at a yoga/pilates class , so to be able to hold them at the Village Hall is a real bonus for everyone
Important Notice
Women in full time employment are entitled to paid time off work to attend yoga & pilates classes, which are covered by the category ‘antenatal appointments and relaxation and parent craft classes. We encourage students to exercise their right to this time off work.
'As a mother myself I know how important it is to look after yourself whilst pregnant, and having experienced antenatal yoga classes during my pregnancy I can honestly say they proved to be an invaluable aid to both my pregnancy and the birth of my son'
